To support our third impact goal—Equitable Civil Society Partnerships—and in response to global commitments on localisation, we launched the Due Diligence (DD) Passporting Project. This initiative is designed to strengthen organisational approaches to equitable partnership and enhance collaboration between international and local civil society organisations.
Local and national partners often face complex and repetitive due diligence requirements from international organisations and donors. The DD Passporting Project aims to ease this burden by developing a DD Passporting Procedure, enabling Alliance2015 members to exchange partner assessments. This will reduce burden on partners and country teams, reduce duplication, promote responsible and inclusive collaboration, and allow partners to focus more on delivering impactful programmes.
Following decisions made at the Alliance2015 Annual General Meeting in Nairobi (June 2024), a dedicated Due Diligence Passporting Taskforce was formed. Comprising experts from each member organisation, the taskforce has led the development of the procedure, which will be piloted in country programmes before being refined and launched across the network.
By improving coordination and reducing administrative overhead, the initiative will free up resources for programming.
The initiative aims to support global learning on equitable partnerships and localisation. As a member of the ICVA Due Diligence Reform Community of Practice steering committee, we will share insights from our members and partners to advance due diligence reform and foster inclusive collaboration.
