Overview

Morocco has shown real strength in bouncing back from tough shocks — from COVID-19 and high inflation to droughts and natural disasters. The government is making important long-term investments: expanding health insurance, reforming education to improve learning, and boosting social protection for vulnerable groups. At the same time, Morocco is tackling climate risks head-on — especially water scarcity — by building smart infrastructure, restoring natural ecosystems, and investing in green energy.

Acted began its operations in Morocco in September 2023, following the September 8 earthquake. Since then, its activities have been concentrated in the provinces of Taroudant (Souss-Massa), El Haouz, and Chichahoua (Marrakech-Safi), where the organization has provided assistance to more than 23,744 beneficiaries (Sept. 2023 – June 2025), particularly in hard-to-reach areas.
