Alliance2015 welcomes Generation Nutrition’s “Fueling the Future” brief, which examines the European Union’s external action and the proposed post-2027 EU budget through a nutrition lens.

At a time when malnutrition and hunger continue to affect hundreds of millions of people worldwide, the brief raises critical questions about whether the EU will stand by its global nutrition commitments. It highlights key concerns, including the absence of a renewed EU nutrition policy framework beyond 2025, a shift away from needs-based cooperation, increased reliance on blended finance, and weak nutrition indicators within the proposed Global Europe Instrument.

Alliance2015 supports the brief’s call for the EU to match political commitments with adequate, predictable and needs-based funding, and to ensure nutrition remains a core priority of EU external action.
