Alliance2015

Alliance2015 is a strategic network of eight European non government organisations engaged in humanitarian and development activities. The Alliance2015 members are ACTED/France, Cesvi/Italy, Concern Worldwide/Ireland, Hivos/The Netherlands, IBIS/Denmark, People in Need/the Czech Republic and Welthungerhilfe/Germany. As eighth member, HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation just joined Alliance2015 in December 2013.

We aim to fight poverty more effectively by cooperating on various levels, working together in developing countries as well as on campaigns to influence public and political opinion in Europe. By joining forces, we can meet the challenges and changing demands of donors. Alliance2015 continues to work towards reaching the Millennium Development Goals and contributes to the Post2015 process.

Working in the 'Global South' and in Europe

In Asia, collaboration in emergencies has forged particularly strong links among the partners, especially after the 2010 floods in Pakistan.
In Africa, the partnership has a strong focus on education in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Uganda. In 2011, members cooperated to deliver emergency aid to the Horn of Africa.
Latin America is the first continent where Alliance2015 members (Hivos and IBIS) successfully implement joint projects as Global Fund recipients. From 2010 to 2013, all Alliance2015 members present in Nicaragua shared the first Alliance2015 Office in Managua.

In Europe, Alliance2015 has been successfully campaigning and focusing on advocacy work, for example with the EU-funded Stop Child Labour campaign that ran from 2003 to 2013 (now continued by Hivos). Since mid-2012, the Food Right Now campaign has taken off, also funded by the EU, addressing a young audience in Europe.  In January 2013, a large advocacy programme on a structured dialogue between NGOs and the EU on MDGs 1 and 2 started with all seven - now eight - members on board.
